Salt Mine
Today we visited the salt mine in Slanic. The last time I had been there I was about 2 years old so, as you can imagine, the whole experience felt new to me. Brand new!

And the World was Silent... iSilent
Last night I got the 2 iPhones we ordered a couple of weeks ago. I
didn't sleep until well after 5 am. Since last night I ran numerous
tests and trials and I made my way deep into the iPhone OS. I'm quite
impressed.
You'd think getting a new phone would mean you're going to talk more.
Well... NO! Since I got it I spoke very little to anyone. It's so mesmerizing
I find it hard to take any sort of break from tinkering with it. I'm
like the Gollum on Lord of the Rings. I'm seeing the same effect on
anyone who touches it, man and woman alike.
Anyway, there will certainly be more talk about the iPhone on this blog. That is, as soon as I start blogging directly from it.
Yep, it seems the iPhone Era has begun.

Deprived or Depraved
I never realized how phonetically similar these two words were until last night. How the word depraved came up in conversation does not matter. Just think of how easy it would be for someone with a heavy accent (I think Aussie would be more susceptible) to convey a very different message from what they actually intended.

Awareness Test
I was just having a talk with Francisc about driving habits as we were testing and configuring multiple RDP connections on a Windows XP system (yes, it's possible) when I received this video:
It's not just cyclists that drivers should learn to look out for but it's a start. Definitely a good ad.
P.S.: if you want to know how, I might be persuaded to write a tutorial on multiple concurrent RDP sessions.

Minimum Speed Ahead
I promised myself I wouldn't blog about traffic so much but, when you reach new hights or new lows in anything, the event deserves to be mentioned.
Today, it took me 34 minutes to get from the middle of the Lujerului underground passage to the first stop light. That's 34 minutes for roughly 398 meters resulting in an extraordinary speed of 0.7 km/h.

iBand
I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. Here's one more reason to want to buy an iPhone.
The band uses iPhone, iPod Touch and Nintendo DS as their instruments of choice and the software is mainly Moo Cow Music's Guitarist, Drummer and Pianist.
You can keep up with the iBand on their website. When you're there be sure to also listen to their newer song "Life is Greater than the Internet".

It's almost 4 am, I have a nasty cold, tomorrow is a very busy day and I'm sure many of you have already seen this. BUT, it's just too much.
I've been staring at my screen replaying this over and over again for the past 20 minutes. I know it's funny, but I think it was just so funny I wasn't even able to laugh, at least not out loud, anyway.
Because a picture is worth 1000 words and because I don't really know what words to use I've enclosed a picture I took of myself right after I watched the video the first time. I think I'm so shocked my face is stuck like that.

Postavaru
This weekend we went to Poiana Brasov in search of a bit of R&R after all the stress of the past weeks. We spent two nights at Pensiunea Stejaris which was very nice, though a bit on the expensive side.
Saturday we went into Poiana Brasov, parked the car at the bottom of the slope and started hiking up the mountain towards the Postavaru chalet. It was actually very sunny in Brasov when we started up the mountain but we soon found the 70 cm of snow they were talking about on TV. Even more! You can actually see in the enclosed photo that I'm standing on a big bank of frozen snow and the spring landscape behind me is simply bathing in the sun. Costi, congrats again on a job well done buying those snow-guards (also seen in the picture).
After we had some light lunch at the chalet, Costi and I rented some skis and tried out the icy snow. It's amazing how I was still able to ski (no matter how poorly) after more than 10 years of ski-less winters. This year's snowboarding might have helped a bit, too.
Today we spent our time visiting Brasov, eating, driving and having a good time.

Christian Nasulea, Master of Business Administration
Today, after 18 months of classes, weeks of tedious work on my dissertation and a pretty nifty 10-minute presentation I finally did it. I finished my MBA.
Seen how I got a 10 on today's presentation and I was already first on the list with a 9.73 GPA I guess I finished first. I'm still going to have to wait for the final, official results but the situation looks pretty clear.
Congratulations to me!
