New Site for the Speakes
I've just completed the new layout for William's Spinney (www.williamsspinney.ro).
It's not exactly brand new. I've recycled elements from the old site layout but I've converted all the graphics from hand drawn to vector graphics.

Laptop Maintenance Day
Today seems to be some sort of "Official Hardware Maintenance Day". I've been putting off quite a few people and it seems it's finally time to take care of the laptops that were piling up in my room.
With a bit of luck I'll have all those screens looking back at me out of here by this evening.

Mr. Bean's Holiday
We went to the Movieplex tonight to see Mr. Bean's latest adventures. The film was very funny, simple and relaxing. To put it simply... much to my liking.
Part of the fun were some scenes shot in Avignon which I actually thought I recognized right away. Mainly because of the Gare TGV d'Avignon which I think has some definite particularities. It brought back nice memories of last summer's holiday and the people dancing in the streets of Avignon.
Movie trailer here.

New Car
I bought myself a Red Skoda Fabia this week. I've spent most of the week choosing it, testing it, signing papers and filling in forms for it. After all that I finally picked it up yesterday evening... LATE yesterday evening.
I didn't even manage to take any pictures of it yet because it was already so late. The good thing is I'm done with part of the beaurocracy, the bad thing is there's more to come. I still need to register it, get licence plates for it and probably a few more steps I need to go through that I don't even know about yet.

The Lunch of Champions
Today the Champions at the Marriott Hotel had a very interesting special: All you can eat Buffalo Wings. Actually it was just a double-sized portion of the thing, instead of getting 12 wings you could ask for 24 at the same price of 22 RON. Long story short I ended up eating for an hour and a half and finishing off 26 Buffalo Wings. I admit I "tasted" a couple more from the other people at the table as the 24 originally intended for me apparently weren't enough.
As a side dish to the wings I had chips dipped in cheese cream and bread. You probably think I'm crazy. I don't know about crazy but I am feeling a little sick.
Well, I'm off to have some desert...

Bucegi Plateau, Costila
What's a good idea of something to do with your Easter weekend? Why not climb a mountain?
It might sound a bit more impressive than it actually was. On Saturday morning me, Gabi and her brother Alin (my aunt and uncle) paid a little visit to the Bucegi Plateau. Don't think we climbed the mountain on foot as there's still a level 2 avalanche warning. We took the cable car from Busteni, which now costs 21 lei, and we arrived on the plateau around 12.

Not Bridging the Net Anymore
Yesterday was my last day as Sales Manager of NetBridge Investments. For various reasons I had decided at the end of February that I would give up the position. I was asked to stay a bit longer, till the end of March to be more precise.
I was also asked not to say anything about my departure until the moment actually came so I would like to apologize to all those people who were surprised by the announcement yesterday and even more to those people who don't even know yet.

Alex & Morris
Tonight I went to the theatre. I realize I have a good life, 4th night of the week, 4th enjoyable evening activity of the week.
The play we saw tonight was called Alex & Morris. A fairly simple subject: the friendship of two old men in an asylum. It was moderately funny throughout with a very sad ending. You can probably imagine why. I mean, if you're going to see a play about old people you can pretty much guess there will be some dying involved at some point.
The play itself was very good. Mitica Popescu and Stefan Iordache did an extremely good job depicting the details and specifics of the situation (old age).

National Radio Orchestra
Tonight was the last night of the International Guitar Festival. I managed to attend again. For the big finale of the festival the National Radio Orchestra accompanied Stan Zamfirescu and Duo Melis which we'd previously seen on Monday.
Stan Zamfirescu performed the Concierto de Aranjuez.
LATER EDIT: I was gracefully accompanied to this concert by my wonderful girlfriend, Ancuta, and her colleague, Catalina. I was in no way constrained to write this.
