I actually had the time to sit and watch TV one of these past few days. I mean not in the usual way, that is, leave the TV set on while I do 2-3 other things. I actually sat down and watched for an hour.
You might be wondering, what did I choose to watch for this precious hour...
I watched Discovery Channel's Future Weapons, hosted by Richard "Mack" Machowicz, more specifically the Future Shock episode. I'm going through all the trouble of giving all these details because on this show I saw one very interesting piece of technology called LRAD.
LRAD stands for Long Range Acoustic Device and it's definitely worth a look. It's basically a non-lethal weapon that uses sound waves as a means of attack. I think the potential commercial applications of this technology go far beyond the military ones.
