People from a village in Suceava county got together last Friday to rebuild a bridge that had been taken away by flood waters last summer. The bridge on national road DN 17A was supposed to be rebuilt by authorities ages ago, being a high priority for the area.
Sick of fixing their cars the village people built a wooden bridge in a SINGLE day, tested it with a 10 ton load and even placed signs restricting its use to vehicles under 2.5 tons and 2.5 meters tall.
In recognition for their help, local authorities are threatening members of the community who took part in the build with sentences of 1 to 3 years of imprisonment for illegal construction.
