Seizing the opportunity of another great Copdrop project, this year I took Frank, Chris, Michelle and Lewis for a mid-April skiing day up on the Bucegi plateau in Valea Dorului.
While I don't think Frank and Michelle had too much fun (we know this because Michelle said: "I didn't have fun!") I was really glad to see Chris and Lewis enjoy it A LOT! In fact I must reiterate my amazement at Chris' skiing in writing. For a guy putting on a pair of skis for the first time he was simply unbelievably natural and he just demonstrated how steep the learning curve can be for some.
As for myself, I had a blast. It felt like I knew half the people on the slope. I made myself a new 7-year old skiing buddy named Luca, who showed me once more that age brings nothing to the game and that smaller means faster and better. The weather was exceptional. Many people were skiing in their tees and loads more were sunbathing on the terrace of the Valea Dorului challet.
My face is red from the sun, my eyes are red from speeding down the slopes with no glasses on. I absolutely loved it!
